YARRA Valley Grammar Ariels is excited to announce that goaler and former Australian 21 and under captain Stephanie Puopolo will play in the ANZ Championship next season after signing with the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Puopolo – daughter of Ariels head coach Christina – has spent the past year on the sidelines after undergoing a knee reconstruction, but was rewarded for her performance against New Zealand in a 21 and under trans-Tasman series last year.
Adelaide coach Jane Woodlands-Thompson told the Thunderbirds website Puopolo was a wonderful addition to her roster.
"I am very excited to have added Steph to our goaling troupe. She is a class player who I anticipate will shake things up and add a new dimension to our forward line,” Woodlands-Thompson said.
“I have been most impressed with Steph’s approach and her professionalism in our dealings so far. She is a great fit for our team and culture."
Puopolo will cut her teeth in the world’s best netball league alongside fellow Adelaide goalers Carla Borrego and Australian representative Erin Bell.
She will join Shannon Eagland and Micaela Wilson as Ariels players who have won contracts with ANZ Championships teams in the past two years.
